Will James Johnson
Born in inner city Detroit, Will James Johnson has been a performer (read: clown) his entire life. This Meisner trained actor, who has dabbled in stage, film and now transitioning to TV, loves comedy, improv, and frequently performs standup. Taking on the role of Pvt. Cedar has required him to connect to his simple and peaceful side while simultaneously preparing for the hardship of war.

Richard Martinsen, playing the role of Staff Sergeant Paul A. Davies, comes to Independence War with over 15 years of training and experience in stage, voice over, and film projects. He has worked with the director, Francis Hamada, on several other projects over the years and was fortunate enough to be cast in this terrific fan film.
Meisner trained actor Beth Bemis digs in as the gritty, battle-hardened Sgt Santee. Most recently, Beth played a lead in a live-action film with Pixar (soon to be released), plays a series regular on the new media project "That Just Happened," and auditioned for a role on "Grey's Anatomy." She enjoys the challenge of eclectic diversity, also apparent in her day job as a software program manager, acting teacher, and middle school volunteer.
Meisner trained actor Nathan Rahn comes to the film as Buchanan, the fiery, loud mouthed soldier. Most recently, Nathan played the werewolf hunting cowboy Red in "Cowboys vs. Werewolves" and a San Francisco police officer in the short film, "Stalker." Prior to "Stalker," Nathan played the lead role in the BWG Production, "It Works."
Trivia: Nathan served in the U.S. Navy and holds a Masters degree in Human-Computer Interaction Design.
Christopher Damm plays the character Tully, a former member of the Persephone Diplomatic Corps turned soldier. In addition to being involved in several films and short films as an actor, Christopher is also a filmmaker and is currently co-producing and directing his first feature length film “Red Hunter”, a WWII action film about female Russian snipers.
Trivia: Christopher works for the U.S. Foreign Service, speaks Mandarin Chinese and has served overseas at U.S. Embassies and Consulates in both Asia and Africa.
A Russian-American immigrant born in Tallinn, Estonia, Galina spent several years as a theater performer. In the U.S. she transitioned into film acting, appeared in several short and feature films (including four films by veteran filmmaker Rob Nilsson), and explored other areas of filmmaking such as cinematography, editing, digital effects, directing, producing, etc. She is currently starring in and co-producing a feature film, "Red Hunter", a film about the adventures of a female sniper on the Eastern Front in WWII, directed by Chris Damm. She is also involved in several other film projects.
A dancer at heart, Pamela's love of artistic expression has waltzed her from stage to screen. Her love of film and television stems from a deep connection to the Meisner technique. The role of Shawna Zander allows her to embrace a delicate balance of gentle soul with the fighting edge of a soldier.
Trivia: Pamela has danced on the stage of Carnegie Hall and is certified with the Enneagram (an ancient system of 9 personality types). Recently Pamela welcomed a baby boy, Ethan, into the world. Congratulations to Pamela and her husband!
Shannon Kealey is excited to make her screen debut as intelligent and idealistic Corporal Taylor Acrey. She studied the Meisner acting technique at Alan Gordon Studio in Greenwich Village, NYC, and has most recently done commercial work in the Bay Area. She also has a background in musical theatre.
Trivia: Shannon is a singer/songwriter, and has a Master of Library Science. A talent singer and musician, Shannon wrote and performed the theme song for the film Browncoats: Independence War with the original piece "My History".
Alisha Ehrlich plays the role of Anna Cedar. Alisha received her degree in Theater & Performance Studies from UC Berkeley and trained at ACT and Berkeley Rep. Alisha has been seen at the SF Fringe Festival in Weightless, which won four sold out awards and Best of the Fringe and has understudied lead roles in Berkeley Repertory Theatre's productions of Tartuffe and The White Snake. Her favorite roles she's played include Eurydice in Eurydice and Mary Warren in The Crucible.
Trivia: Alisha is a huge Whedonite and upon her first viewing of Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, she watched the miniseries,commentary, and musical commentary in one sitting.
Derek W. Adam
Actor Derek W. Adam plays the character Specialist Blane McTaggart, a seasoned knife wielding soldier. Acting is not the only talent Derek holds - he is also the owner of norcalmoviecars.com, where he provides police cars and other vehicles for movies, television, internet, and more. He has also held positions of transportation coordinator, stunt and precision driver, and various other crew positions, making Derek an invaluable asset to the team.
Jeffrey plays Browncoat demolition man Specialist Everett Tang. Jeffrey started his career less than four years ago as a voice actor doing radio spots and industrials. Shortly after, with the encouragement from his voice acting instructor/casting director, he began working in front of a camera. Since then, Jeffrey has been featured in a series of short films and corporate videos for VM Ware, Deloitte, and Oracle. Recently Jeffrey Sun performed in a major role with the stage production of "Maple & Vine".
Diana Jackson, who plays the refugee leader, Maggie Cahill, is a Meisner trained actress and voice over artist. Diana has been busy with independent filmmakers, television shows and commercials in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Additionally, she is a mother of three, humanitarian, fitness fanatic, entertainer and cookie baking cool mom. She appears on the big screen as a conniving politician in “Make it Go Away” or a battered wife in “As Seen on TV”. Most recently playing the lead mother “On The Day I Almost Died” a new show on Discovery ID.
